Ed Harcourt blends pop, rock and funk together to form trippy, dreamy sounding stuff. I'm at a bit of a loss to describe it. It's just stuff. But it's good stuff.
He's released an EP, Maplewood, which he recorded in his own house. He also released a promotional video - a short film called "Racoon Boy", featuring songs from Maplewood. It was about a boy (played by Ed) with an evil racoon attached to his shoulder (like Siamese twins). It's cool.
He then recorded an album, Here Be Monsters, incorporating two of the songs from Maplewood and released Something In My Eye as the single.
Ed is the self-confessed king of home-counties R 'n' B. He kicks some serious ass!
Ed used to be in a band called Snug They were big in Japan. Ed played keyboards and bass and he wrote about half their stuff.
