I hate Dido's album!
I first heard Dido on Jo Whiley's show on Radio One. My girlfriend had said David Gray was going to be on, so I decided to tape it for her because she wasn't going to be back in time to listen. Jo started to interview someone of whom I'd never heard, who turned out to be called Dido, so I decided to record her songs so I could set the volume levels properly, etc.
Anyway, Dido performed a two-song acoustic set and I thought it was absolutely fantastic, so I cleaned it up and kept it.
Pretty soon I bought the album, and as I say... I hate it. It's very overproduced with lots of dance beats and stuff. I don't like that. I preferred the acoustic versions. I'll concede that there are a few decent tunes on it, but I'll always prefer the live, acoustic stuff.
Dido is probably best known for Here With Me, the theme tune to the "Roswell High" TV series. She also did a song called Thank You which was sampled in Eminem's Stan.
