A picture of the band

These guys are my other equal second favourite band (along with Train and Matchbox Twenty). They are a sort of punk-pop band. Simple lyrics, but heart-felt. Powerful guitars. Loud bass. Big drums. Nice.

They started off as The Twigs... not the best of names for a punk band, but then they weren't very punk then. They were fairly successful in their native Austin, Texas and soon released an album called Blue Sky Day on a tiny independent label.

A little while later, with a few changes of line-up, they released the more upbeat and punk-pop EP Another World. I've actually got a copy of this - very hard to find! By this time, they had changed names to Dexter Freebish.

Still later, they released an album Dexter Freebish. They entered the John Lennon Song Writing Contest (which was judged by people such as Elton John) and won. Then they got themselves a big record deal and hid away in a dark recording studio...

When they came out, they had a work of art in their hands - A Life Of Saturdays. They toured with bands such as Everclear and SR-71, building up a large local following. Meanwhile, the song Leaving Town was getting a lot of airplay. That's about where they are now :)
